About The Event
After more than two years in isolation due to the covid-19 pandemic, we are confident that our community is again ready to "come out and enjoy a day of fun in a Family-oriented event."
We have partnered with local agencies that provide an array of services and education. Today more than ever, we are ready to assist and inform those still looking for answers, a new path, a career, and clarity as we try to return to normality. Still, we need your support and participation to make this event successful.
For over 12 years, The Hispanic Festival has been a venue for local and regional vendors and artists to showcase their talent, cultural and ethnic traditions, food, music, and art, with our community partners' sponsorship and support, and this year won't be the exception!
The 11th Annual Hispanic Festival in Harrisonburg will be held on Saturday, August 06, 2022, from 9:00 to 6:00 pm. at Ralph Sampson Park in Harrisonburg, VA. We will have four (4), yes, four bands playing live! from Bachata, Tropical Music, Regional Mexica and Huapango, to the Salvadorian traditional "Chanchona" music.
We will also have a Futsal tournament for adults and youth, artisan displays and sales, traditional foods, delicious treats, employers ready to hire, and much more activities for the entire family.
The Hispanic Festival has always celebrated our community and the rich culture and traditions that make us who we are, and this year won't be the exception.
Here in the Valley, we take care of each other. That's not just a cliche but something we can attest to it. If you are a business owner, Employer, and Community member, you play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a community we are all proud of; with your sponsorship for the Hispanic Festival, we will be able to continue providing a venue for Valley families to come together to celebrate life and serve as a cultural bridge to unite our community, learn from each other, and live in harmony. We thank you for your support.
COSPU is more than a festival; we are well vested in our community.
Our programs and services attest to that; they start with a Cultural and Traditions Enrichment program. From there, we gear up and fight for immigration policy change, youth leadership mentoring, covid-19 financial assistance, rent assistance, fund navigation, and everything in between.
The mission of the Hispanic Festival is to celebrate the Hispanic heritage and promote diversity and inclusiveness in our community. We are part of the efforts to promote Harrisonburg as a Welcoming City. Harrisonburg's Offices of Tourism and Parks & Recreation promote the Hispanic Festival as one of our city's summer tourist attractions. With time, the Festival has grown to approximately 3,500+ attending the Festival.
Perhaps, you have come to know COSPU as a non-profit organization founded by a group of Salvadorians who wanted to share their rich culture and traditions with our community. That is true, but that's not all we do. COSPU, as you know it, is undergoing some changes, from including members of other nationalities on our board of directors and hiring our first Executive Director, to expanding and revamping our programs. Some things will remain the same: our core values, mission, and commitment to those we serve and represent. Still, we can't do much without your financial
contribution; that's why we ask you to pray for our organization, and if found in your heart, please become a sponsor of our 11th Hispanic Festival.
COSPU is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and can extend a tax-exempt receipt for your contribution. Please email us requesting a special sponsor form and rules of participation if you choose to promote your product or organization at the Festival.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with me at (540) 860-0304 or Kamilo Rivera, President of COSPU, at (540) 810-0052, or email us at info@cospu.org
Respectfully,
Crimson Solano
COSPU Executive Director
